So I am pondering several things, I gave up and went with pondering. Well that's one decision down. This semester should not be too hard, I have three 101 classes, English 250, and Meteorology 206. Since I am on academic warning (stupid chem class) I do not mind this semester being very easy.
Last week went surprisingly fast. Hopefully these next two weeks are the same way. I go home in ten days on the 30th and am very excited! By then I will be in need of talking to someone that actually understands everything I say. I don't intend to sound mean I am just confused at why you send your child to this country and all he is doing this semester is learning how to speak English, granted it's obviously a better education but I think that a semester just to learn English would be quite expensive. Oh well not my choice. Yesterday he brought back some beef that he wanted to learn how to cook, it ended up not being as bad as I thought it would be, it was actually easier than when he wanted to learn how to make easy mac last week.
I thought our football coaching staff would be complete by now and we would be hard on the recruiting trail. Coach Rhoads is working on the recruits however we do not have a defensive coordinator and several other position coaches. While I was home on break I was watching TV-9 (go figure) and John Campbell did a story or something on some coaching thing or something and at the end of the segment Bruce Aune asked him if Chizik was still at Auburn, John replied with yes looking confused and Bruce explained that he was just making sure that Chizik had not moved on already. IT WAS AWESOME! Probably one of the best things I had heard in awhile along with the verb "Chiziked" getting adopted by many people, by the way it means to unexpectedly leave when you are firmly entrenched or just walk out, look for it in this years edition of Merriam-Websters dictionary. ISU even got chiziked again one of our newly hired position coaches was on the staff for a whole 11 days!!! He was hired on January fifth and left on the 16th to coach at Mississippi, I guess the cold got to him.
I am joining Kappa Kappa Psi which is a national honorary band service fraternity. It is a non residence frat and is also co-ed. I have my first degree tonight. If you are unfamiliar with the process of joining a fraternity or sorority you have to take a class learning all about the university and the respective group. You have to take quizzes and stuff and then there are also degrees which are little ceremonies I do not know what is involved in the ceremonies and I probably won't be able to talk about it so sorry! As I said my first degree is tonight and the other two are over the coming weeks. I actually have a busy week with KKCy, degree tonight, class tomorrow night, and regular meeting Wednesday.
It's also a very exciting time in my family, I have THREE cousins that are now pregnant with the first one due in March. I am very excited for this! With all these baby's and toddlers this means there will be a lot of cool new toys to play with at my families houses (they all live in rural Tama county on farms where there is poor cell phone reception and they don't have wifi or cable TV which means all of my toys are not very much fun) so ya I am looking forward to loud toys for kids! It will also be a chance to get revenge on my cousins (I am the youngest) for all the things they did to me growing up... (insert evil laugh) good times will be had!
I e-mailed my boss last week haven't heard back yet, hopefully that's just because he is taking time off. I also helped my girlfriend get a job! (You owe me by the way) It looks like I will also be interning at TV-9 again this summer which makes me happy! I will also probably getting a different job, my friend works for Witwer Senior Center delivering meals for their meals on wheels program, it's pretty good money and since target probably won't be giving me many hours when I get back for the summer I figure that's my best option, and it's only from 9:30-1:00!!! This is a random thought but I am amazed at how quickly Twitter has gotten into the mainstream. I have been on it since last spring and many more people have gotten on it lately. It is quite useful in the media industry, I have heard of people getting story ideas from their followers along with storm reports, some TV weather departments even have their own for this exact reason. Feel free to follow me if you aren't already I am jbgcook. Oh well that's about it from here for now have a great week and I will talk to you in a couple of days! GO STATE!!! GOD BLESS!!!
