Freedom...

Another week at THE Iowa State University. This week was not bad just full of homework and you know school stuff. Other than that it went pretty well. My roommate decided that the air is too dry here for him (he is still wearing too pairs of pants when he leaves) so he bought a humidifier, I now live in a rain forest, if you would like to tour my rain forest it is free (however donations are accepted, cash or check only please). Whenever he leaves I shut it off and keep the heat on to try and even out the moisture distribution, but then it gets too hot. The only time I want it to be this hot and muggy is if there is a nice strong cold front about to come through, and that will not happen in my room, oh well.

I am writing this just before heading home for the weekend. It's my grandparent's 60th wedding anniversary so I will go celebrate that with them in Garwin on Sunday before heading back here. I am debating leaving my pyramid of empty pop cans so I can finish it, only 14 more cans left! I am also looking forward to seeing a couple good friends that I have not seen since break and one that I hardly saw over break. Tomorrow is a big day in ISU basketball, #4 Oklahoma comes to Hilton with the conferences leading scorer (I am pretty sure he is at least) to face the second leading scorer my man CRAIG BRACKINS!!! Hopefully we win, if we don't I just hope it doesn't get too ugly. GO CYCLONES!!!

Anyway back on topic. My roommate likes to bring up random topics to talk about while I am laying in bed watching TV late at night. One time this week we got on the topic of religion (which took awhile for him to translate). After finally getting the right words conveyed he talked a little about how in China they are not allowed to have any religion or believe in anything, due to the dictatorship, he did say however that his great grandparents or something like that used to be Buddhist. Once he said that it made sense but it just goes to show how we as Americans take a lot of things for granted. We are allowed to on our own free will to go and worship whatever god or anything that we believe in, or not. Every person in this country is allowed to believe in anything and do anything, as long as it's not against the law for their and others safety.

Overall I think we all need to slow down and just look at what were doing and how blessed we are. This country gets too caught up in politics and splitting into two sides to remember that we are all one and we are all free to have those thoughts and beliefs, not to mention we are free to have this government. We also have our own brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, mothers, and fathers here at home and overseas fighting, and some giving their lives for this freedom, a lot of people say it but I don't think it will hit home until each person in this country has a loved one go fight for this great country. Do yourself and and everyone a favor this weekend and take a minute or two and remember those unalienable rights given to you in the constitution. Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. Have a great weekend! GO STATE!!! GOD BLESS!!!
